Pick the Mine will help admitted students and their families celebrate acceptance to S&T and help you navigate your next steps.
Choosing the right university is one of the most important decisions you’ll ever make. That’s why we are inviting you to campus to answer any questions you may have, share additional information about resources and services available, provide academic demonstrations to ensure you've selected the right major, and help you navigate your next steps (after celebrating!) once you officially 'Pick the Mine'.
Here are just a few of our planned activities:
- Next Step stations to help admitted students complete outstanding requirements
- Hands-on academic demonstrations, facilities tours, and class lectures
- Exclusive tours of residential halls, student design center, and campus
- Scholarship Raffle

Pick the Mine officially starts with the formal Welcome Presentation at 9:00 am and concludes at 2:00 pm. Lunch will be provided for all guests.

- 11:00 - 2:00 pm - Campus tours leave every 30 minutes from the Havener Center Atrium
- 11:00 - 2:00 pm - Tours of the Student Design Center, Fitness Center, Thomas Jefferson and Residential Commons residence hall (provided on a drop-in basis)
- 2:00 pm - Optional ALEKS Math Placement Test (Testing Center in G10 Norwood Hall)
