Military Specific Programs

Student Financial Aid

Military TA is awarded to a student under the assumption that the student will attend for the entire period for which the assistance is awarded.  To comply with the policy of the Department of Defense, Missouri University of Science and Technology will return unearned military tuition assistance funds on a proportional basis through at least the 60 % portion of the term for which the funds were provided.  Any unearned TA funds will be returned directly to the appropriate military branch of service.   We will recalculate TA eligibility for students who fail to attend, drop out, withdraw (officially or unofficially), or are dismissed prior to completing greater than 60 percent of the enrollment period.  This may result in the student no longer being eligible for the full amount of TA funds originally awarded.  The enrollment period is computed from the “courses begin” date to the “courses end” date.  TA funds are earned proportionally during an enrollment period, with unearned funds returned based upon when a student stops attending.
