Living Expenses

Graduate students are responsible for securing their own housing in Rolla. There are several off-campus housing options within walking distance to the university. It is very important that you plan ahead to secure your housing and budget accordingly for your personal living expenses.

Keep in mind if you are renting an apartment, it often requires payment of a deposit, which is equal to the first month's rent. In addition to your monthly rent, you will also need to budget for utilities, such as electricity, water, and internet.

  • Shared apartment or house: $300-500 per person
  • Single Occupancy apartment or house: $500-1000+
  • Food and Personal expenses: $250-350
  • Transportation: Taxi services are typically around $10 per trip in the city of Rolla
