Space - The Final Frontier
July 12-16, 2020
In just five days, you will experience an intense hands-on challenge to design, build, and fly a small satellite, unlike anything you have been part of before. This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity is to take motivated high school students to the edge of outer space!
Your math and science skills will be used to design and construct a small spacecraft (with a camera on-board) that is then launched on a high altitude balloon to 100,000 feet. Throughout the week, you will learn about spacecraft design, high altitude balloons and teamwork through various challenges and activities. Toward the end of camp, you will become a “storm chaser” as you track and recover your balloon satellite from its flight. Upon successful completion of the camp, you will take home images captured by your satellite from the edge of space that have never been seen before!
