ASM Materials Camp

July 20-23, 2020 (Virtual Camp)

Are you ready for an amazing Virtual Materials Camp experience?


 Are you a highly motivated learner with an aptitude for math and science? If you are, then explore your interests by attending Missouri S&T's Virtual Materials Camp. This modified camp will allow you to participate from the comfort of your home. Although in the early stages of planning, here's a glimpse into some of the activities.

Prior to the first day of camp, a materials box will be delivered to your home, so that you can have an interactive, hands-on experience. 

Materials Camp activities include:

  • Virtual tours of manufacturing facilities around the country along with live Q&A sessions
  • Daily activity challenges related to various areas of materials science (materials provided)
  • Virtual lab demos
  • Research highlight presentations
  • Design project competition

Registration Details

APPLICATION PROCESS HAS CLOSED FOR MATERIALS CAMP

Date:  July 20-23, 2020

Eligibility: 11th and 12th grades in fall 2020. Acceptance to this camp is selective. Students should have a strong interest in applied materials science.

Capacity: Space is limited to 75 students. 

Registration Fee: Free. Students must apply and be accepted into the camp. 

Student selection process

Application deadline extended to June 15, 2020
Applications will be reviewed as they are submitted, and notifications of acceptance into the camp will be issued no later than June 19, 2020.

This is a competitive application process. Students are asked to describe why they want to learn more about materials science and engineering as a possible college major and career. Students must have a strong interest in applied materials science. Before submitting your online application, you may wish to prepare a personal statement describing why you should be selected to participate - up to 200 words in length.

Registration Cancellation Policy

Persons wishing to cancel their registration must do so by July 6, 2020.

Campus Cancellation Policy

Missouri S&T reserves the right to cancel any program in the event of insufficient registrations, severe weather or natural disaster. In the event of cancellation, registrants will be notified immediately via email and phone. Persons wishing to cancel their registration must do so by July 6, 2020.
