During Jackling Introduction to Engineering Virtual Camp, you'll be introduced to a variety of engineering fields with virtual demonstrations and activities related to each discipline. You will learn about what engineers do, what tools they use and how the various engineering fields affect everyday life. Engineering and science groups will present brief overviews of their areas of focus and the exciting technological challenges on which their graduates work. Choose from a suite of activities each afternoon that will include interactive workshops and problems that may include software development, aerospace testing and problem-solving, exploration of state-of-the-art engineering materials breakthroughs, and the process of product development and testing.

Registration Details

Dates: June 21-23, 2021 (Virtual Camp)

Eligibility: Rising 10th, 11th and 12th graders in fall 2021

Registration Fee: $200

Scholarships Available
Missouri S&T is offering a limited number of need-based scholarships. If you would like to apply, please register for the camp and check the "Yes" box on the form to receive a scholarship application and instructions (via email). Scholarship review and awardee communication will begin April 1 and continue until funds are gone. Priority will be given to Missouri residents. The 2021 scholarships are provided in part by the E.J.Endownment, TREKK Design Group and Missouri S&T's student diversity initiatives.

Camp Schedule

Explore Engineering

During  Intro you’ll learn what engineers really do and the tools they use. Each morning, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., engineering and science groups will present brief overviews of their areas of focus and the exciting technological challenges on which their graduates work.  In the afternoon, you'll be able to choose from a suite of interactive activities that will include  workshops and problems that may include software development, aerospace testing and problem-solving, exploration of state-of-the-art engineering materials breakthroughs, and the process of product development and testing.


Daily Schedule

Monday June 21 - Wednesday June 23

Each day will follow the same schedule as outlined below.  During the 3 day course, you will be introduced to 12 engineering/science disciplines and will select 6 to participate in more focused interaction and activities unique to that discipline. The sessions are interspersed with challenges and other fun activities.

Morning Activities
9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. - Welcome and 2 department overviews

10:30 a.m. - 12:00 noon - Participate in selected departmental activity

Afternoon Activities
1:00 p.m. - 1:45 p.m. - 2 department overviews

1:45 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. - Participate in selected departmental activity

Cancellation Policy

Missouri S&T reserves the right to cancel any program in the event of insufficient registrations, severe weather or natural disaster. In the event of cancellation, registrants will be notified immediately via email and phone, and all fees will be returned in full.
