Missouri University of Science and Technology
At Missouri S&T, one of the nation's top research universities, new students discover an academic environment that is hands on, challenging and rewarding. Yes, Missouri S&T has high academic expectations of its students, but we also have one of the country’s highest freshmen retention rates. This is achieved, in part, by making sure help is available to new students who are transitioning to college life.
S&T is one of the rare research universities where it's easy to find help when you need it. No doubt you'll have questions as you explore new concepts and grasp new ways of thinking.
Each new student is assigned a faculty advisor. Many academic departments offer walk-in advising, and all faculty keep office hours. Some professors have been known to hold office hours at a local coffee shop. Others will meet you for breakfast study sessions.
Go for it
If you’re really ambitious, you can even pursue an undergraduate degree and a master’s degree concurrently. Exceptional students who work with their faculty advisor to pursue rigorous coursework and research projects throughout their undergraduate career can dual-enroll in graduate-level courses during their senior year.
2/3 of S&T classes have 30 or fewer students (and most lab sections have fewer than 20).
