This calculator can help you get an idea of the cost of attending Missouri S&T. Figures generated are estimates only, and all rates and fees are subject to change. For more detailed information, contact our Cashier's Office.

Student Information

Residency
To receive federal financial student aid or some scholarship awards, students must demonstrate that they are U.S. citizens. Citizenship requirements are detailed online at http://fafsa.ed.gov.

Students must demonstrate U.S. citizenship and state of residency at the time of application. It is possible for students to obtain in-state (Missouri) residency by providing documentation to support the definition of a Missouri resident. Residency information is detailed online at http://registrar.mst.edu/moresidency/resident.html.


Midwest Student Exchange Program (MSEP)
The Midwest Student Exchange Program is a reduced-tuition plan available to residents of Indiana, Kansas, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota and Wisconsin. MSEP is a multi-state tuition reciprocity program agreed to be the state legislatures and public universities of the participating states. MSEP is a voluntary program and only the eight (8) states included participate at this time.

Books & Supplies
Books and supply costs vary according to Program. We approximate an expense of $960 per academic year.

Personal Expenses
Personal expenses vary for each student depending on the amount you spend on things like food, transportation, cell phone bills, clothing, entertainment, etc. We use a recent survey of S&T students to approximate an expense of $3,366 per academic year.

Tuition
Tuition and fee amounts are based on estimated student budgets for students enrolled full-time in on-campus degree programs. Tuition rates are explained in detail on the Student Financial Assistance website at http://sfa.mst.edu/costs/index.html.

Parking
On-campus parking is available to all students. Parking lot locations and fee rates are explained in detail at http://police.mst.edu.

Housing, Meal Plans, & Transportation

 




Living on Campus
Missouri S&T offers many different living arrangements and meal plans. Detailed information on each plan--including specific costs associated with each--are detailed online at http://reslife.mst.edu.

Generally speaking, undergraduate students are required in live in campus-approved housing until they have completed 60 college-level credit hours. Undergraduate transfer students may live off-campus if they have completed 60 college-level credit hours.

Graduate students are not required to live in campus-approved housing, but housing is available if they choose to live on campus.

Meal Plans
Students living off-campus--or in fraternity or sorority chapter houses--are not required to purchase a meal plan, but may do so if they choose. Students living in university residence halls are required to purchase a meal plan.

University-Approved Housing
University-approved housing includes all university residence halls, the Residential College, many fraternity and sorority chapter houses and the Christian Campus Fellowship house.

Greek Life
Students wanting to live in a fraternity or sorority chapter house can learn more online at http://studentlife.mst.edu.

Living Off-Campus
For students living off-campus, expenses vary for each student depending on the amount you spend on things like rent, utilities, parking, food, etc. We use a recent survey of S&T students to approximate an expense of $7,632 per academic year.

Scholarships & Financial Support

Please use this section of the calculator to add any scholarships and grants you are eligible to receive for your education. If you wish to investigate these options further, you may go to the FAFSA website (Federal Student Aid). You may also visit Missouri’s “Planning and Paying for College” website for more information on financial assistance programs specific to Missouri residents. Missouri S&T also offers scholarships to qualified students. For more information, please our Student Financial Assistance Office’s website. Graduate Assistanceships and Fellowships are awarded at the discretion of each academic department.

The University reserves the right to modify by increase or decrease the fees charged for attendance and other services to the University, including but not limited to educational fees, at any time when in the discretion of the governing board the same is in the best interest of the University, provided that no increases can or will be effective unless approved by the governing board not less than thirty days prior to the beginning of the academic term (semester, etc.) to which the fees are applicable, with all modification of fees to be effective irrespective as to whether fees have or have not been paid by on or behalf of a student prior to the effective date of the modification.
