Missouri University of Science and Technology
Welcome to Missouri S&T!
What is the Transfer Assistance Program?
Missouri S&T Transfer Admissions staff will work with you every step of the way so that you can transfer to Missouri S&T without losing credits or taking unnecessary courses. Our staff also provides information on important deadlines for admission, scholarships, and pre-registration. TAP helps you plan your course selection at a participating partner college or university, outlining the courses you need to take before transferring and how those classes may directly transfer into a degree program at Missouri S&T.
How does TAP work?
When you enroll in TAP, you become a part of our prospective transfer student database. Our Transfer Admissions staff will be in contact about their upcoming visits to partner schools campuses in Missouri and contiguous states. The Transfer Admissions staff are available by phone or email for consultation concerning your transfer issues. TAP provides academic program counseling as well as access to Transfer Guides. A Transfer Guide is a course of study that has been developed in conjunction with participating partner colleges and universities. If you choose a college that does not have an established Transfer Guide, or does not offer one in your major, our Transfer Admissions staff can provide personalized counseling to help outline curriculum and ensure your smooth transition to Missouri S&T.
What are the advantages of TAP?
By enrolling in TAP, you will be informed about the transfer admissions process, scholarship deadlines, visits to your campus by Transfer Admissions staff, and much more. Campus visit opportunities for transfer students, pre-registration processes, and a host of other useful information is provided to you periodically by mail, phone, and email.
When you enroll in TAP, you will be assigned a Missouri S&T student ID number, which assures your catalog year. An Undergraduate Scholarship and Application Guide, information about specific academic departments of your choice, as well as Transfer Guides are mailed to you.
How will you know if you're on the right track with your courses at your participating school?
You'll know you're on the right track by following the Transfer Guide established for your particular school and major and staying in touch with Transfer Admissions staff about any questions you may have.
What are your chances for success when you transfer?
TAP students do well academically. Cumulative grade point averages remain consistent after transfer. More than 85% of students who transfer as juniors or with the equivalent of an associate's degree go on to complete Missouri S&T degrees.
Every effort is made to help you adapt to the campus. Transfer Advising Days and Transfer Transitions are designed specifically for transfer students.
